Improvision

SCANLIB is a `C' language library that implements a uniform device-independent interface to raster scanning and printing equipment.With SCANLIB, an application can access a wide range of image scannerswith full scanner feature control and error handling. All the scanner-specific tasks are automated, permitting easy integration of new scannertypes into any imaging system.Image I/O is managed by Improvision's CGVS (input) or LRP cards. Thehardware support functions are included in SCANLIB, but may be replacedwith calls to alternative hardware.SCANLIB works with Improvision NPSXO simplex/duplex, Ricoh IS-400, andFujitsu M3093 through M3096 for documents; Improvision RFS-216 for16/35mm roll film; Versatec ACRIS 2 (Model 950) and Photomatrix Vision200/400 for aperture cards; TDC IS3A for 105mm fiche; Vidar enginesand Scan Graphics CF XXXX-44 for large documents; and Ricoh LP4400/5400laser printers for A3 300/400 dpi.
